Environmental management

In order to ensure business sustainability and effective management of quality, health and safety, ecology and energy efficiency issues, KazTransOil JSC has implemented and operates an integrated management system.

The integrated management system is an integral part of the Company's management system and meets the requirements of the following international standards:

ISO 9001:2015 – Quality management system;
ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental management system;
ISO 450001:2018 – Occupational health and safety management system;
ISO 50001:2018 – Energy management system.

In 2023, the certification body TUV NORD CTRT GmbH conducted an inspection audit of the integrated management system, following which KazTransOil JSC confirmed compliance with the requirements of ISO 14001:2015.

Biodiversity Conservation

KazTransOil JSC makes efforts to preserve biodiversity in the areas where it operates, trying to minimise the possible negative impact of the Company's activities on the environment. In 2022 the Company carried out to install bird protection devices which significantly reduced the likelihood of birds dying when landing on line disconnectors. A total of 242 kits have been installed in Zhezkazgan, Shymkent and Atyrau oil pipeline directorates.

The Company participated in the Round Table «Birds and Energy: In Search of Sustainable Development». According to the results of the Independent rating of the transparency of Companies in the energy sector, the Сompany holds a leading position, leaving behind companies such as Karachaganak petroleum operating (KPO), NCOC, etc.

Environmental requirements for contractors

KazTransOil JSC operates the organization standard ST 6636-1901-JSC-039-2.005-2019 «Main oil pipelines. Requirements for contractors», which sets requirements for contractors (hereinafter –Contractors) to ensure industrial and fire safety, labor and environmental protection when they are admitted to work and services at the Objects of KazTransOil JSC and perform these Works (link below).
